lovin' this haircut
I'm always interested to see what is new with Oilily fashion. This time, I was taken with the cute haircut on this red-headed little girl. Kind of a cross between a bob and a flip? It works for me!
simple kids
Although being a stylist is a profession in and of itself, most of my shoots involve me being the stylist (as well as the location scout, prop stylist, hair and make-up artist, etc.) As a result, I'm always on the hunt for imaginative ways to put together outfits as well as good brands to recommend to parents. Today I'd like to share a company called Simple Kids. What I love about their style is the merging of vintage with modern and the great use of color. One online source for purchasing items from the line is Elias and Grace.

if I had a baby....
I'd totally snatch-up these star pants from mini-Boden while they are on sale at Nordstrom's. Heck, maybe I'll get them anyway.

Tea Collection Model
I photographed this little model, who is represented by JE Talent in San Francisco, for her comp cards. She can now be seen in all over the Tea Collection Website! Congrats!

bowing out

I've been working with this family for three years now when they won a bid on a photo shoot at a school auction. I photographed "C" when she was a baby, a one year old, etc. And now "C" has a little sister! We got together for a semi-newborn/sibling shoot and mom had C. decked-out in a big ol' bow. Now, I adore my clients and I want to make them happy but I was against the bow. I did a few shots and then came clean with the mom. "She's gorgeous. She doesn't need the bow. Let's lose it." Mom reluctantly went along with my suggestion. At the end, she asked that we put it back in to hold her hair back and I responded "she can wear a clip." I'm getting so bossy!
