7am shoot

I got a referral from Stars for a portfolio shoot for a new model.  I asked the mom what the earliest time was that she could meet me for the shoot. When she said 7am, I knew I had to go to Sutro Baths!  I even picked-up a dress for the occasion, a gorgeous velvet shift from Peek which purchased at Nordstrom.  I'm now in love with the brand!

We did four looks.  Mom did some shopping of her own at the Gap and got a vivid pink wool peacoat.

Of course, it's not just the clothes that make the model, but in this case the clothes, model and location really came together beautifully.

Did a shoot this week with an aspiring actress/model. She really couldn't take a bad picture. We had some fun with the styling, too! Shy little sister made it into a few shots.

Many times I have done a shoot, only to see the same concept depicted in an ad or editorial the next day or week...Sometimes, the converse is true.  Take this example from some current Gap shots involving kids holding up picture frames outside. 

I did this idea for Baby Couture a few years ago.

Nohi Baby in Earnshaw's

Nohi Baby is a "fresh find" in the current issue of Earnshaw's, one of the premier industry publications for childrenswear in the U.S.    The baby featured is Jules, a little cutie I discovered at an art gallery. 

The photo was taken for the Spring/Summer 2013 line.
