another pretty face

This little girl just got signed with Stars  in San Francisco and this was her very first photo shoot.

With fashion and shoes, it's all about the season and shooting happens almost a year before all the imagery and marketing is released. So, it's fun to see work that feels like it was done ages ago come out.  Here's a little blurb from Child Mode about one of my clients, Livie and Luca (they make adorable children's shoes):

Theo just turned 2 and is with Marla Dell Talent in San Francisco. He was a regular model for Macy's and has also worked for Leap Frog. I've photographed Theo twice now and both times he was so easy to work with, especially for his age. For our last shoot, we decided to work out of his home. I was immediately drawn to the funky door leading from the garden to the garage. Theo's dad said it was created by painters cleaning their brushes on the door!

I first took pictures of this little girl for her modeling card when she was just one year old. Then, about a year later, her parents contacted me for new photos. They had put her modeling on hold and just wanted personal photos. It turned-out that I had a project she was right for, so it was the best of both worlds. The parents were fun to work with and the dad, who studied to be an ecologist, is also a great stylist - he is the one who thought of flipping-up the flaps to reshape the hat!

beautiful baby search

Parenting Magazine, in conjunction with Regis and Kathy Lee, is having their annual Beautiful Baby Search.
Winners could appear on the cover of Parenting Magazine and get a $125, ooo to be used toward a college fund.
Some suggestions for winning entries: keep the background simple, shoot in natural light, don't have your child wear sunglasses, a hat, or dressy clothes...no food on the face or silly costumes. KEEP IT SIMPLE, folks!
